During our 2011 trip to the US, we took an Alcatraz Island night tour.
It was fantastic! In typical San Francisco style, it was foggy as we approached the island and this only added to the atmosphere. It was very easy to imagine the dread filling the prisoners souls as they approached their new home.
Anyone who has been following my pics knows that one thing I really enjoy is photographing old cars, trucks or hot rods and creating HDR pictures from them.
This covers a really wide range of finishes. From old and rusty to super shiny and polished. Either way, I usually great a get picture and have some creative fun along the way.
Here are some from our Uganda trip. I never saw any real rust buckets, I suspect that they are recycled long before they get to that stage, as the Ugandan people are an industrious bunch and things don’t seem to go to waste.
Finally getting the home network to do what I want it to do. Which means I can easily get at my pictures from my Macbook!
I have also started playing with Lightroom and here are my first efforts.
So far I am very impressed with the ease of use of Lightroom. I can see how it has been designed around ‘workflow’. That is import your pics, develop (process) them, then prepare them for print, book or web output. It all seems very sensible!
Anyway these two pictures started life as 3 shot HDRs and I they make cracking Black and Whites!
Let me know what you think, unless you are one of those spamming bastards who can just go away.
