July 2017 Retroautos is out!

The July 2017 edition of Retroautos is now online. Please click on this LINK and it will take you to the magazine.

The big news this month is that we have uncovered Holden’s secret plans to replace the FJ in 1954 with a model they called the “FG”, two years before the FE was released. The” FG” has been a well kept secret for many years and Holden’s plans included a sedan, ute, panel van and a 4X4 light truck. But it never went beyond the prototype stage. We can now bring you the exclusive story and the photos of this long forgotten Holden.

Plus, we showcase a VW Combi Collection that pays for itself !

We hope you enjoy this issue of Retroautos. As always, it is published with passion and with pride.

The November edition of RetroAutos is out.

I am very pleased to announce that the November edition of RetroAutos is now available to read online.
I am sorry I missed announcing the October edition, but I have been super busy trying to find a new job and I completely missed it.
As I hope you know, my pictures are a regular feature of RetroAutos magazine and have been for the past 12 months or so. It is very exciting and a little humbling to have so many people looking at my creations.
The other exciting news is that Shannons is hosting the magazine.
This issues covers:
The 40th anniversary of the Rover SD1
100 Dorts in the world
1948 TASCO
and of course my pics.
I would like to thank David, the editor for his continued hard work.

We bring you the third and concluding part of our HD/HR Holden story with some never before published images of HR prototypes, proposed ideas for interior designs and a profile of the late Joe Schemansky, the former Holden Design Director, who styled the HR and many more Holdens in the 1960s and 1970s.

We chat with John Gerdtz, who owns Buicks, and Bill Kington, who collects Lincolns, about 1970s American luxury cars. It was a time when size did matter.

We know you will enjoy this edition of Retroautos. It is published with passion and with pride.

Did you know that the HD/HR Holden came very close to being just a clone of the 1962 Chevrolet Nova? In the second part of our feature story celebrating the 50th anniversary of the HD and HR, we publish many never before seen photos of the prototypes of the HD sedan and wagon. Plus, we have the inside story on how the HD was styled and how it narrowly avoided being a Chevy Nova look-alike.

Davin Cole never intended to buy an old truck. But he did. He has written the story about the restoration of his 1952 DeSoto truck and how he found its first owner.

We interview Models 56 proprietor, John Pisani and discovered that developing and marketing scale models of classic cars is a complex and expensive business.

Brian Crump is the custodian of a 1967 Rolls Royce Phantom V that has transported royalty, had eggs thrown at it, been in an international car rally and is now the centre of attention at many car shows. He talks about this historic and famous car and its continued preservation.

And there are all the usual features:  RayTookThis, RetroAds, RetroAuctions and RetroRacing.

We hope you enjoy the 58th edition of Retroautos. It is published with passion and pride.
